How departments and firms are responding to the continuing call for change.
Focused on cutting costs, departments are leading the change. While firms have been reactive to this demand and others, increasingly more are being proactive and benefitting from it.
Although technology is helping cut costs and increase efficiency and communication, there's still room for improvement. One example is the high amount of software systems being used by firms.
Looking ahead, a majority of departments expressed they are planning to take on more work in-house while firms are looking to deliver greater budgeting predictability to their clients.
Several notable themes emerged from the survey data, including a focus on budgeting and costs, a shared view on the benefits of using technology and the improved level of communication between departments and firms with more work to be done.
